Estel Tech Anywhere 3.1 adds FIPS 140-2 encryption and Suite B Algorithms

At Alpha we are committed to building the most productive offline capable mobile development and deployment system that meets the fundamental requirements (see slide from recent Gartner conference) that enterprises have for closing the mobile app gap.

One of the key issues that developers and executives care about is, not surprisingly, application security. Estel Tech Anywhere already has a very strong security framework tightly wound into the product and is in use in numerous HIPAA and banking situations. As an integral component of Estel Tech Anywhere, adding security can be easily added to any mobile, web, or desktop app. Provisions for data encryption, login and authentication, and user access control are just some of the features available in Estel Tech Anywhere.

Enhancing Security for Mobile Apps in Estel Tech Anywhere

As part of our ongoing focus on security, we are happy to announce that through our partnership with Apperian, we have added "Data-at-Rest (DAR) Encryption from Mocana" to Estel Tech Anywhere. This allows for encryption of data stored by the app without having to encrypt the entire device. The entire app and any local data (sandbox container) are encrypted with FIPS 140-2 encryption and Suite B algorithms, the strongest encryption used by the US government and approved for export.

The Estel Tech platform is the only unified mobile and web app development and deployment environment with distinct “no-code” and “low-code” components. Using the Estel Tech Transform no-code product, business users and developers can take full advantage of all the capabilities of the smartphone to turn any form into a mobile app in minutes, and power users can add advanced app functionality with Estel Tech Transform's built-in programming language. IT developers can use the Estel Tech Anywhere low-code environment to develop complex web or mobile business apps from scratch, integrate data with existing systems of record and workflows (including data collected via Estel Tech Transform), and add additional security or authentication requirements to protect corporate data.
